Ouch not good for connections with a short a connection time. Some may have to rethink their itinerary.

We decided to go to Miami a day early in October due to a short connection time. Looking like a good decision.

Oof. I was getting to book AA with a Miami connecting flight. I need to double check those flight times.

I'm not concerned for our May, June and July flights. Figure it'll all be running by then but people booked this Fall could be SOL if their connections are close.

What makes you think it will be fixed by then? We are talking Miami. Miami makes Sint Maarten look like a marvel! They are incompetent. Cheers irina

Connecting in MIA on the way down in November, but paid a bit extra to connect thru CLT on the way home for this very reason. Skytrain has been down every time we've ever flown thru..not to mention the wait to get thru recheck and security.

". And some workers might have to speak english" That statement is uncalled for and rude.

Well, if you’re flying FC on AA, you can always signup (and pay) for Five Star service, with a reserved and dedicated cart, and a visit to the Admiral’s Club if time permits. I think that those people train at Homestead-Miami Speedway, 😂

Flying FC on AA to SXM gets you the admission to the AA Admirals Lounge.

Having walked AA’s MIA concourse, literally from end to end when I was younger, and with no train, I’ll consider paying for Five Star. YMMV,

That's exactly what turned us off on MIA. Last time we connected there, many elderly or infirm were really struggling with that long haul from the gate and with no assistance in sight. Not just on the airport IMHO..the airlines, cruise lines etc. are well aware of the situation and could work with the airport on a plan for when the Skytrain is down as often as it is.

Do they have wheelchair assistance? I used it a few years ago.

Yes, they have wheelchair assistance in Miami. I have used it several times in the past. This year in June, the wheelchair assistance was actually good. Before that, it was AWFUL. VERY slow, no one speaks English, often you would get taken to one spot, dropped off, then wait another 10 minutes for someone else to come pick you up. We shall see how it is, moving forward. Especially with this situation, I predict they will be absolutely overwhelmed with wheelchair assistance requests. Service for wheelchairs has been historically slow there. i predict it will now be GLACIAL.

I just got a message that they increased my layover time going down through Miami from 45 minutes to 93 minutes. Happy with that.
